Ubuntu Astronomy Remix is an effort to bring a functional and easy to use Linux Distribution to the astronomy community. Besides the online tutorials on the web, there were no out of the box astronomy ready Linux candidate yet. Taking this into account a few astronomer and amateur programmers decided to merge a variety of applications inside the great Linux distribution Ubuntu.

This way is a good solution to all install problems and limitations that many of amateurs and astronomy students find in the way of migrating to Linux, a very common platform for numerical integrations and image processing.

Using the Live DVD ability, users can test astronomy applications without change their hard drives and start with first steps into Linux.
